Burst Binding.

Attractive, durable & cost-effective

This is a very strong and cost-effective method of binding on certain materials, such as the fibrous stock used for paperbacks, but can be a weaker one on others when we’d recommend perfect binding or PUR binding. We’ll always consider your individual job and advise you on the best solution. For this Burst Binding method, we fold the text sections and punch a series of slots down the spine edge so that hot EVA glue can penetrate the centre and give added strength. Spine gutters aren’t needed.

In-line & off-line Burst binding.

Our in-line binding offers you up to 15 sections at run speeds of up to 12,000 books per hour across two machines – all at a competitive price. For thicker publications, we also have an 18 station off-line gathering machine and a hand feeder station. We can also fold your text sections as part of our comprehensive burst binding service.
